A Holiday Make-Up Tutorial (Video)

December 22, 2014

Do you have any holiday festivities to attend this week? Don't worry! This easy-to-achieve holiday inspired make-up is perfect for any holiday parties you might be attending. The combination of a soft smokey eye and red lips is very versatile and it will look good with your favorite dress as well as with a more casual outfit...
If you will like to learn how to achieve this make-up look, follow this simple step-by-step tutorial that will show you how to create it.

Step One:
1. Moisturize your face. I am using the SIMPLE Replenishing Rich Moisturizer.
2. Apply your foundation. The one I am using is the REVLON Colorstay Foundation in the shade 330 'Natural Tan'.
3. Apply concealer under your eyes to cover any dark circles. I like to use the Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser and apply it using the triangle technique. I also apply the concealer on the bridge of my nose, my forehead and chin to highlight those areas.
4. Set your foundation and concealer using face powder.

Step Two:
1. Fill in your eyebrows using an eyebrow pencil. This will make them look more full and defined.
2. To make the eyebrows look more natural, blend the color using a clean mascara brush.

Step Three:
* For the eyeshadow, I am using the 'Naked 2' Palette from Urban Decay.
1. Use a matte cream shade to highlight the entire eye. I am using the shade named 'foxy' from the 'Naked 2' eyeshadow palette.
2. Apply the color 'chopper', which is a rose gold shade, on the inner part of the eyelid.
3. On the outer part of the eyelid, apply the color YDK (a bronze-y shade) to add more definition.
4. For the crease, apply a soft brown shade. I am using the color 'tease' with and slowly blending the color with a blending brush.
5. To define the eye, draw a little triangle on the outer part of the eye using a dark brown shade and blend. I am using the color 'busted'.
 6. This step is optional: If you like to add a little more sparkle, apply a rose gold pigment on the center of the eyelid.
7. Highlight the inner corner of the eye and underneath the eyebrows using the color 'bootycall'.
8. For eyeliner, create a winged shape using a gel eyeliner for a softer effect. I am using Maybelline's Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner in the color 'blackest black'.
9. Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara. Mine at the moment is Tarte's "lights, camera, lashes" mascara

Step Four:
1. Add color to your face by applying your favorite bronzer. The one I am using is the 'Natural Bronzer' by RIMMEL.
2. Apply a soft pink blush on the cheeks.
3. No holiday look is complete without red lips! Apply your favorite red lipstick. My personal favorite is MAC's Rubi Woo lipstick.
4. To finish the look, apply highlighter in the areas where the light will naturally hit your face. These areas are the top of your cheeks, the bridge of the nose and chin.
